Mount Baker

Service Description

At 10,781 feet tall, Mt. Baker is the 3rd tallest volcano in Washington State. Named by George Vancouver for his 3rd Lieutenant Joseph Baker of the HMS Discovery, Mt. Baker has the second most glacier cover of all of the Cascade Volcanoes behind only Mt Rainier. Mt. Baker Ski Area averages over 600 inches of snowfall in the winter. In 1999, Mt Baker set the world record for recorded snowfall in a single season—1,140 inches. On this tour we'll set a bearing for Mount Baker and pass through Skagit Valley farmland on the way to the volcano. We'll make a few stops on the way and spend 3-4 hours around Artist Point (August & September). There are several hiking options here if you want to stretch your legs! Price is for the group but does not include tax, meals or gratuity.
